ABOUT MATS
|

|
| Prints are offered matted as an accommodation to customers. All materials used in matting are acid free and archival. We cut the mats. The matting consist of a double window mat hinged to a backing of mat board. We do reversible hinge mounting of the print. We do not do permanent dry or wet mounting. Permanent dry or wet mounting does encourage that the print stays flat in the mount, but it can never be reversed and can decrease the value of a print. We don't feel like we should make that decision for a customer. |

| Mat colors are selected to enhance the print and are usually neutral light brown tints for the outer mat and a dark shade for the inner mat. Some prints might require a light grey tint for the outer mat with a dark grey shade for the inner mat. |

| The samples below will give you an idea of the colors we use for internet sales. Please be aware that these are representative, and actual color may vary slightly from what you see on your monitor. Each color has a number assigned and if you have a preference, contact us when you order a matted print and we will use the option you select.. |
